Ice is formed from air

Left: Such clouds can be seen above power stations. During frost such white clouds leave your neighbour´s chimney. In winter you can even make your own clouds by breathing your warm air. The water in the clouds is called  water vapour. Usually water vapour is invisible.
Middle: At the walls of a freezer ice has formed from the water vapour of the air
Right: At a very cold morning with blue sky these ice crystals could be seen on three blades. Frozen water from the air is called hoarfrost.
The ice in the freezer and the hoarfrost are coming from the water vapour in the air.
Snowflakes are formed when the water vapour in the air freezes.
