photo: Put some crystals of KMnO4 into a 10-ml vial. Close
it by a rubber stopper which is connected to an empty vial by a tubing
ending in a needle. The stopper is also pierced by the needle of 3-ml syringe
with hydrochloric acid (20%).

photo: As soon as acid is added green chlorine gas escapes from KMnO4.
(Next Experiment).

photo: Liquid bromine dissolves in hexane with an orange colour, in
water with a brown colour (= bromine water).
