Su14 Separation of a mixture: Sodium chloride from cooking salt

* Photo 1 and 2: Mix one table spoon of table salt with 20 ml water in a 50-ml vial.
* Leave the suspension until it is transparent (photo 3).
* Carefully pour out the clear solution into a second vial.
* Leave it to dry up.

During evaporation of water crystal cubes of the pure substance -called sodium chloride - are growing.
