Su08 Melting and solidification of sulfur 1
(Do this experiment together with an adult: It will be hot!)

* Left: Slowly (!) heat a solidified piece of sulfur in a Liquemin vial using a micro spirit burner.
* Observation Middle: The yellow sulfur rod melts leaving a yellow liquid.
* Observation Right: The yellow liquid solidifies leaving yellow sulfur (crystal needles).
Explanation:  At the melting point of sulfur (112° C) this yellow solid changes to a yellow liquid.
